Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide you with the tips, steps and techniques for painting your own waterscape masterpiece.
I created a series of five videos, included in this course, with helpful information to guide you in painting your own oil waterscape painting. This course is helpful for any painter at any level; beginner, intermediate or advanced.
I also provide you with reference documents; one with the precise steps for the painting process and another one which is a supplies list. Throughout the course, you may want to look at these materials. This course can take you anywhere from 1-2 days to weeks. It is entirely up to you, as the artist to take whatever time you need. I would set aside 2-3 hours per day for at least a week, if you can. Sometimes walking away from something and coming back to it the following day, brings new motivation and inspirations.
In this online oil painting, my goal is to help you paint your own masterpiece — using what I’ve learned from painting around the world for over 15+ years, painting alongside some of the most talented artists and painters in the world. Creating a scenic oil painting is not impossible for anyone to do, but creating a stunning waterscape masterpiece is not easy. Painting water requires specific tools, techniques, skills and planning which we will cover in this course, and with time you will build your own unique artistic style.
I’ll walk you through every essential step to paint your waterscape masterpiece in this online course. For any questions, feel free to email me at lotusmenezes@gmail.co

- Introduction, Equipment and Painting Session 1In the Session 1 video, I'll go over the equipment and first steps for painting your waterscape masterpiece! I'll explain and demonstrate; how to paint the base, re-purposing a canvas, techniques for painting a horizon line, techniques for painting water as well as foreground elements, skyline and foliage.1
- Painting Session 2 - Watercolor Sketches (Optional)A painting session for watercolor sketches to use for your oil waterscape painting. This session is helpful to do if you want to work on the oil painting at home and have some references. (It also doesn't have to be on a paddle board!)1
- Painting Session 3 - Touching-up the PaintingIn this session I'll go over touching-up techniques for your waterscape oil painting. Together we'll touch up the rocks in the foreground, the foliage, the horizon line and the water. I do this session outside in the garden (not at the site) and refer to my watercolor sketches and photos of the site. However, you can do this session on site (even better) or at home if it is better for you. Find what works for you and don't be afraid to refer to your sketches or photos of the scene you are painting.1
- Painting Session 4 - Final Touch-UpsIn this last session, I'll go over how to do the final touch-ups for your waterscape masterpiece! I'll show you how I touch-up the skyline, darker shades and hues on the rocks and you'll see my finished piece! Don't worry, if your artwork doesn't look like mine! Every artist has their own style and different scenes they are painting. So just keep touching-up your painting until you're happy with it and feel free to post in the group if you'd like advise or to share your progress! And you can always email me! I'd LOVE to see how you're doing and your amazing masterpiece!1
